Benefits and Practice of Yin Yoga

Many traditional yoga practices focus on yang energy, which develops muscular strength, stamina, and flexibility. Yin yoga beautifully complements yang yoga by focusing on longer held poses and stretches for the connective tissues of the body, such as tendons, ligaments and fascia. These poses are held from one to five minutes, which also cultivates peaceful, meditative awareness.

We will discuss yin philosophy, background and approaches, then move into a relaxing and mindful 70 minute yin practice to complete the workshop.
